Cryptocurrency payment gateway Flexa announced today, a newly inked partnership with leading in-store and online payment service provider Citcon. This working arrangement means that digital asset-based payment has, pretty much, gone mainstream as Citcon’s customer base of +6,000 global merchants can now accept crypto.
San José, California, USA, based cryptocurrency oriented payment gateway Flexa, on Wednesday the 19th of May announced that it had struck an accord with global leader in online, and in-store checkout/payment services firm, Citcon. The agreement between the two firms essentially means that digital assets may finally have their time in the sun, in terms of mainstream acceptance as a payment medium.
Through Flexa’s technology, Citcon’s globally distributed network of merchants will now be able to accept cryptocurrencies as one of the available payment options, at checkout. Users purchasing items or services from the merchants will soon be able to pay, using the number of digital assets supported by Flexa.
With the cryptocurrency market having cleared the $2 trillion mark, in market capitalization, within the first quarter of 2021, and cryptocurrencies more than doubling in value in the same period, it is clear that the industry is going through a period of aggressive adoption. The Flexa/Citcon move appears to preempt the growing demand for real-world digital currency payments.
“We are excited to expand our crypto capabilities by partnering with Flexa. Enabling digital currencies to make purchases at businesses around the world helps to push forward the development of the future of payments,” commented Chuck Huang, CEO and Founder of Citcon. “The partnership with Flexa allows our merchants to accept digital currencies so that brands around the world can access the expansive spending power of cryptocurrency holders.”
Apparently, Merchantants have been keen on adopting payment options that incorporate digital assets for quite some time. Cicon and Flexa will enable merchants worldwide, to accept crypto-based payments in a seamless, low cost, and contactless manner.
“Merchants are at the center of Flexa’s approach to payments,” said Trevor Filter, co-founder of Flexa, “which is why we’re delighted to support Citcon in strengthening their suite of merchant-friendly payment offerings.”
